In awe of His goodness!
Blessings leave us with options. They give us an option to go closer to God in awe of His goodness or it can make you stray away from a presence-centric lifestyle. I’ve had times in my own life when my passion for God has shot up when I desperately needed a breakthrough and gone down while I was busy enjoying the blessings.
So, what are blessings for?
I am not even suggesting that we need to stay needy or in poverty to stay passionate about God. That is a wrong mentality. While i thought more on that, God reminded me of being poor in spirit.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3)
What is ‘being poor in spirit’?
To be poor in spirit is to realise that nothing we have is worth more than the kingdom of God. Knowing this, we become willing to part with anything we have, if it hinders us from receiving the kingdom. The only way we can be “poor in spirit” is to truly believe that He is more valuable than anything we have. A good question to ask ourselves is, “Is our love for God greater than our need for blessings from Him?”
Blessings are to drive you closer to God in awe of His goodness. There is something you learn about the fathers heart from blessings and breakthroughs that you probably may never learn otherwise. He is a good God at all times, and let us enjoy His goodness towards us with Him.
Are there blessings in your life that are weakening your passion for God by giving you options?
Seek God in success, seek Him in your crisis. Life is to be lived in the presence of God.
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. (Psalm 27:4)
God Bless! 🙂
