Paint over it!

Paint over it!

Sometimes, the way to win a battle is not to fight it.

Very often we shift the focus from God to our problems, which takes our eyes off from the future and fix them on our past.

Sometimes to erase something, you need to paint over it. Its like, you have a black paper of your past and you pour different colors over it. If you pour any colour over a black sheet of paper, the black will be less visible. And the more you keep painting over it, the black won’t be seen at all. Declare God’s word and promises over your situations. Don’t focus on the problem and wait for an explosion that will change everything overnight. Paint God’s word over it and what bothers you will fade away.

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)

Some people miss out on their answers because they refuse to move ahead in life. They want to drill deep into their problems and create a valley out of it. They know so much about what is wrong that there is no room to think about what is right. I’ve learned that if you keep your eyes on God, the weight of your problems will be much lighter and eventually fade out of your memory.

Do not dwell on your problems. Let the word of God rewrite every reality. Peace of mind is not gained by the absence of difficulties, but by the presence of God that overshadows everything. The same amount of efforts you put in to drill into your past is all it takes to look into your future. Lift God’s word and truth above every situation and circumstance.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14)

Are there past memories of hurt, hate, disappointments that you need to paint over with the future God has for you?

Do you have problems that seem big only because you are allowing it to stay in your mind?

Stay blessed and keep your eyes on God!

The pursuit of happiness?

I read this recently on instagram, the popular image world –
“When I was 5 years old my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I dint understand the assignment, and I told them they dint understand life” – John Lennon.

A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. (Proverbs 15:13 NIV)

I wrote an article last month on Joy and how important an asset it is in the kingdom of God. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you read it.

So, how do we keep ourselves consistently happy?

There are many books, articles and many famous authors have come up with formulas to be happy. I am sure most of us have different things that work for us, and here’s a biblical way I find very helpful.

1 -> Fill yourself with the truth, IMMEDIATELY!

I remind, speak out loud(declare) and believe the truth in the word of God as often as I can. The truth is He loves us and there is nothing that can separate us from His love. And no matter how bad or how low it feels, He has amazing plans for us. Plans to prosper and not to harm us. That is His promise and He never lies.

2 -> Nothing changes our identity

Be quick to set your identity in Christ. We are more than conquerors ‘through’ Him. It is ‘through’ Him we can do all things.
To set our identity in Christ means to not worry about our earthly position, reputation, name and fame. The richest person on earth or the poorest, we are children of the most high God and He loves us equally.

3 -> You don’t have to know it all

“If you want peace that passes understanding, you’ve got to give up the right to understand” – Bill Johnson.
I know this one is not easy. We all like microbiology – go to the smallest detail of everything. But if you can get this one, make sure you spread it.
This is a stage where your faith is tested. Make a conscious effort to believe that God is working behind and you will see the master piece soon.

4 -> Build a motivation machine
We were made for relationships. Firstly, with God and then with people around us. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, who build you, who speak good things to you, who motivate you, who appreciate you and in short people you enjoy being with.

There are 5 kinds of people in our lives. I learned this last year.
1 – Resourceful people – They are people who ignite your passion(fathers, mentors etc)
2 – Important people – People who share your passion(Friends and others who are in the same level as you)
3 – Teachable people – They look to you. They are your followers. What you receive, you must give(You reproduce yourself)

4 – Nice people – They enjoy our passion. They enjoy what you do. They are not concerned about anything that happen to you(the crowd)
5 – Very draining people – They drain your passion. They are a burden and they never want to change. Always negative and sucks the life out of you.

Make sure you are spending at least 80% of your time on the first 3.

I hope you are blessed with this and I pray you live happy and enjoy life everyday. Don’t forget to share if you are blessed.
